The American Glass Guild Auction
The American Glass Guild’s annual Auction is the sole source of support for the James Whitney Scholarship Fund and also supports the AGG's educational programs. Our decision to name our scholarship fund in memory of Jim Whitney is a reflection of how his zest for life and pursuit of excellence in his craft and art inspired many. Past recipients have traveled nationally and internationally, honing their skills and knowledge due to your generosity and support.

Donations by Kelley Mooers (B118 & S121)
Donation: Gothic Stained Glass 1200 - 1300 by Louis Grodecki and Catherine Brisac
Comprehensive reference book features hundreds of color and black and white photos and is described as covering "the entire development of medieval windows in Europe." Hardcover, excellent condition.
Donation: Salmon Vitri Fusaille by Kelley Mooers
Based on a larger leaded window I designed several years ago, this smaller piece (12.5" x 9.5") was created in the fused and painted Vitri Fusaille method I learned from Peter McGrain. Lead and steel frame with chain makes this ready to hang.

Donation by Melissa Janda (S121)
This is an Archeopteryx, one of the first birds evolved from dinosaurs. I like the idea of this happy bird, free from its stony confines, bursting through the ferns. Time and change are endless, yet there are constants. I like to think of this creature romping through the ferns in my back yard, its ancestors embedded in the rock beneath me. "
